Sushmita Sen gets adorable surprise from boyfriend Rohman Shawl and her daughters on 25 years of Miss Universe win
Actress Sushmita Sen recently celebrated her silver jubilee year of winning the prestigious Miss Universe crown and recieved the sweetest surprise from her closest ones, including boyfriend Rohman Shawl and daughters Renee and Alisah.
Sushmita took to Instagram to share a video of herself cutting a giant blue cake with a crown on it, as her well-wishers gathered around her and sang, 'Happy 25th to you!' She captioned the post, "My kinda celebration!!! I had just landed from Dubai and was heading out to Goa in a few hours...had no idea of this beyond adorable surprise!!! All heart and some off key singing".
Sushmita also opened up about winning the Miss Universe crown, two and a half decades ago. "What a journey!!! Thank you my motherland India, for giving me my proudest identity #INDIAN. The love, respect and adulation I have been showered with for 25 years, is undoubtedly my life's greatest earning!" she wrote.
The actress also gave a shoutout to her "second home", Phillipines, where she won the title. "I thank God for the privilege of having won Miss Universe in their beautiful country, they continue to overwhelm me with their love and belonging to this day, even naming their children 'Sushmita,'" she wrote.
She also included a vote of thanks to the first runner-up, Miss Columbia Carolina Gomez, who "celebrated India's first victory as if it were her own". "Thank you God, family, friends, my children and all of you, who have consistently inspired me to keep growing and be more of my authentic self!!! Your wishes came pouring in and have me overwhelmed, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!" she conclude.
