Don't think Sanju was too soft on me, from guns and drugs to jail, everything was shown: Sanjay Dutt on his biopic

Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju garnered mixed reactions, while some people praised the film and Ranbir Kapoor’s performance others said that it tried to whitewash Sanjay’s image. However, the veteran actor believes that the film showed everything that has happened in his life. In a recent interview, Sanjay dismissed the allegations that the film portrayed him in a way that none of his wrong deeds was his fault and was too soft on him presenting serious issues in a comical way. He maintained that the film did not show a lot of humour that was a part of his life.

In the interview, Sanjay spoke about the biopic and said, “I don't think Sanju was too soft on me. Because everything that was in my life, from guns and drugs to the case and jail, everything was shown. I think in my life there has been a lot of humour. Even when drugs is concerned. There are so many things that Raju has not shown which are more hilarious. It is a message saying that drugs are not good thing in life or it is important to know the laws. Don't make brash decisions, otherwise this is gonna happen. It was something I also wanted to tell the youngsters of today."

But it was a great experience to relive those days. So many things came to my mind." However, he said that it feels great to have a film on him. Sanjay said during the interview, “It's a great and humbling feeling. I felt proud, but not because of the life I led. It made me feel that people love me. I am one of those lucky people who people love."

Sanjay also stood by Sanju’s director Rajkumar Hirani and said that he does not believe in the #MeToo accusations that are levied against him. He said if these allegations are true then an FIR should have been lodged.
