Kalank has several meanings; it depends on your perception: Karan Johar explains the significance of the title

Filmmaker Karan Johar said that the title of his upcoming film Kalank has several connotations and it actually depends on the perception of the viewer to derive the meaning of the name. Kalank stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. The teaser of the film was launched in Mumbai today while Kalank garnered enough acclaim after the video dropped online.

At the trailer launch event, Karan was asked to explain the meaning of Kalank and he said that the title could either mean a mark or kohl – it could even refer to love – but that is a decision you have to make after watching the film at theatres.
