Priyanka Chopra is back to business after her fairytale wedding last December. She recently appeared for the fifth time on the popular America talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her upcoming film Isn’t It Romantic? During the conversation that followed, the actress revealed that initially she wanted to have a destination wedding on a private island but it was her husband Nick Jonas’ idea of having the wedding in India that changed her mind and actually put an end to the discussion.
When quizzed about her wedding that took place at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Priyanka revealed, “I wanted to get married on some private island away from everything and we were like really stressed out about it. We thought Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius or whatever. And nothing was working out,” she explained, adding that the conversation took place when she and Nick were in Mumbai. She went on to add, “Nick said, ‘Why aren’t we doing this in India? Shouldn’t I be taking my bride from her home?’” and that is how they ended up getting married in the country, unlike the other celebrity couples who opted for exotic locations abroad.

Priyanka and Nick had two marriage ceremonies - a white Christian wedding and a Hindu wedding ceremony keeping in mind and honouring their diverse culture and religious background. Their pictures from the wedding are still raging on the internet.
