If you say so, I agree: Ranveer on being asked about the three Khans’ box office debacles in 2018 and whether ‘his time has arrived’

Aapka time aagaya hai (Your time has come), Ranveer Singh was told by the press at the trailer launch event of his new film Gully Boy in Mumbai on Wednesday. The line was borrowed by the media from the tagline of Gully Boy, ‘Apna Time Aayega.’

Ranveer, though, was at his modest best while responding to the question as he said, “If you are saying it, then I will agree.” The 33-year-old actor has had a fantastic 2018 while the current year will be nothing short of outstanding as well. Two films of Ranveer – Padmaavat and Simmba – released in 2018. While Padmaavat was received well by critics and fans, Simmba emerged as his biggest opener as the film earned Rs 200 crore within twelve days of its release.

“I’m very happy that the films I have worked in did well,” Ranveer added. The press, in the meantime, asked the actor to respond to the fact that the Khan trifecta of Bollywood – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir – failed to impress with their respective films Zero, Race 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan, in 2018.

“Yeh baat toh zor zor se bolo (Say this out aloud). I don't like if others’ films don't work. We are from same industry so, but I like when my films work better,” Ranveer said.
Meanwhile, Ranveer is gearing up for the release of Gully Boy. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy stars Ranveer as a street rapper from Mumbai. Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin co-star in the film, scheduled for release on February 14.
