This is how Priyanka reacted when she tried her Ralph Lauren wedding gown for the first time

Priyanka Chopra’s and Nick Jonas’ wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan was probably one of the biggest and grandest weddings of 2018. In the presence of family and friends, Priyanka and Nick married each other in a Christian wedding followed by a Hindu wedding ceremony on December 1 and 2.

For the Christian wedding ceremony, Priyanka wore a wedding gown designed by ace designer Ralph Lauren. It was only the fourth wedding gown ever designed by him; all the previous three customized looks were for his family members. However, he made an exception for Priyanka because the integral part he played in her and Nick’s fairytale love story. Today, the designer took to Instagram to share a video of Priyanka’s first fitting with the 75-foot long veil she wore and also revealed intricate details about the wedding gown.

Ralph also revealed the amount of effort and details that went into creating the custom-made gown. It took 15 artisans a total of 1,826 hours to hand-embroider the coat. Every detail of Priyanka’s wedding look was done in collaboration with Ralph and Mimi Cuttrell, her stylist. Priyanka’s wedding gown had eight different words embroidered in it, including, “Hope”, “Compassion”, ”Om Namah Shivay” and “December 1, 2018”. Nick’s full name “Nicholas Jerry Jonas” was embroidered at the front of the coat and mirrored on the back with PeeCee’s parents’ names.

The wedding gown had 32,000 pearlescent sequins, 5,600 seed beads, and 11,632 Swarovski crystals. A piece of lace from Nick’s mother Denise Miller Jonas’ wedding dress was also sewn into the pattern. The word “Family” was sewn along the right sleeve where Priyanka has her tattoo dedicated to her father, “Daddy’s Lil Girl” and finally over her bosom, the word “Love” was stitched in ivory thread.
