Sara Ali Khan goes as 'Nusrat' in burkha to watch her debut film Kedarnath at the theatre

If you watched Kedarnath at one of the theatres in Mumbai on Tuesday, chances are that Sara Ali Khan was seated beside you or was in the vicinity – just that you didn’t spot her. We’ll tell you why. Along with Kedarnath screenwriter Kanika Dhillon and assistant director Jehan Handa, Sara Ali Khan wore a burkha and watched her film at the theatre to notice the audience’s reaction.

“and @ the movies with ‘nusrat’ When u go to the theatres to check the audience response for your film!! Thank you for all the love,” Kanika wrote in her post as she shared selfies from her expedition. Also spotted in the frame - Sara’s mother, actress Amrita Singh. Kedarnath, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, casts Sara opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

Kedarnath narrates the love story of a Muslim porter and a Hindu priest’s daughter, set in the backdrop of the catastrophic floods in 2013 in the Uttarakhand town. The film marked Sara’s debut in Bollywood while critics praised her performance in Kedarnath as well.

The film has been faring well at the box office as well and has earned Rs 32 crore so far. Kedarnath released on December 7.

After Kedarnath, Sara will appear in Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba will release on December 28.
