Madhuri Dixit to be the face of BJP for Pune Lok Sabha Constituency in 2019 general elections?

Madhuri Dixit might be following in the footsteps of several Bollywood stars who tried their luck in politics. If all goes well, Madhuri will be fielding from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections. However, as per reports, the actress is keen on fielding from Mumbai’s constituency and that too for a seat where Poonam Mahajan is an MP, with a major name like Priya Dutt in opposition.

As per a leading news agency, a senior BJP leader has hinted that Madhuri is likely to field from Pune’s Lok Sabha Seat in 2019 elections. He stated, “The party is in the process of finalising the list of probables for several Lok Sabha seats.” He further added, “The party is seriously considering giving candidature to Madhuri Dixit in the 2019 general elections. We think the Pune Lok Sabha constituency will be better for her.”

Speculations were rife in June that Amit Shah, BJP Chief, met Madhuri at her residence in Mumbai. This was during Sampark for Samarthan (Contact for Support) Programme of the party. During the brief meeting, Amit also made her accustomed to Narendra Modi government’s achievements.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also in contact with Madhuri if reports are anything to go by. Interestingly, BJP has also done an internal survey, as per which Pune’s constituency would suit her best.
