Mudassar Aziz finally speaks on the absence of Abhay Deol from Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

Mudassar Aziz is back with the second film in his happy franchise, titled Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi. The film has got Sonakshi Sinha replacing Diana Penty in the lead. The characters of Jimmy Sheirgill, Piyush Sharma and Ali Zafar have also been retained from the previous film. However, Abhay Deol, who played the character of Bilal in the first film, couldn't be seen in any promo/ video of the film.

That's because he's not physically a part of the film. A leading daily asked the question that everybody else is also trying to asking to the film's team -- that why didn't they have Abhay back on board when they had the rest of the actors signing the film?

The director of the film calls it a mutual decision. He told the daily, "Is Bilal missing from the sequel? Geographically, my characters are in such a place where Bilal cannot be. However, he is spoken about throughout the film. He is one of the root causes of conflict in this offering".

Talking about Abhay's omnipresence in the film, Aziz said, "Rai sahab (Aanand L Rai, producer) and I concluded that it would be better if Bilal was represented only in conversations between the rest of the characters. He is omnipresent, yet physically absent".

The filmmaker also added that there's no point there's any kind of tiff between him, the team and the actor. He, in quite a funny way, hinted at Happy Bhaag Jayegi 3.
