Priyanka Chopra bags another Hollywood film titled 'Cowboy Ninja Viking' opposite Chris Pratt

Priyanka Chopra has once again proved that there is no stopping her. The Quantico star will play the lead opposite Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt in Universal Studio’s Cowboy Ninja Viking. The film is a big-budget tentpole that is in pre-production. The role was one of the most highly coveted ones and Priyanka beat a number of actresses after a chemistry test with Chris went extremely well.

Priyanka was supposed to make her comeback to Bollywood after three years with Bharat opposite Salman Khan. However, a couple of days back the director Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted hinting at Priyanka’s impending marriage with American singer Nick Jonas and revealed that PeeCee has walked out of the film. Now, that the desi girl has taken up a new Hollywood project we wonder if this was the real reason for opting out of Bharat.

The film is directed by Michelle McLaren of Game of Thrones fame. It is based on the graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman, illustrated by Riley Rossmo and is adapted by Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) and Ryan Engle (The Commuter). Craig Mazin wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay with an original version by writer Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese, who also wrote the screenplay for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

Its story revolves around a counter-intelligence unit formed by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain who transforms agents known as Triplets, a reference to multiple personalities. Pratt is playing the role of a deadly assassin who has the fighting skills and personalities of a cowboy, a ninja, and a Viking.

Cowboy Ninja Viking is being produced by Guymon Casady and Ben Forkner alongside Michael De Luca, Mark Gordon, and Pratt. Sara Scott is also onboard who is overseeing the film on behalf of the studio. Universal has revealed that the film would release on June 28, 2019.
