Ace choreographer and film director Remo D’Souza has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Remo by a magistrate court in Ghaziabad in an alleged fraud case for not showing up for hearing after being summoned by court several times in the past. Remo approached Bombay High Court earlier this week to get an interim relief from arrest so that he can request for cancellation of the warrant.
However, the Mumbai police has not yet received the warrant due to which no action has been taken against the choreographer-director. Hence, the Bombay High Court has dismissed Remo’s petition upon hearing the statement. Apparently, businessman Satyendra Tyagi had filed a complaint in 2016 against Remo for taking Rs 5 crore from him for a film named DOA: Death of Amar, and had promised to return him double the investment but failed to return him the promised amount.

Reportedly, the film was to star Rajeev Khandelwal and Zareen Khan. Tyagi had filed a case at Sihani Gate police station in Ghaziabad. After Remo failed to appear before the court, the warrant was sent out by additional chief judicial magistrate Mahendra Rawat. The Bombay High Court while dismissing Remo’s anticipatory bail plea stated that no action is being taken against him as the warrant has not yet reached the Mumbai Police.
