Aansh Arora Case: TV actor insists he was treated like a criminal, Ghaziabad police deny claim

Television actor Aansh Arora has filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission against the Ghaziabad Police. The actor has alleged that he was tortured by the police at the Indirapuram police station on May 12 night.

Aansh, in an interview to a leading daily, said, “All I want to know is why I was treated like a criminal. All I has asked that day was to cancel my food order and return the change money back. The staff behaved rudely with me and we argued over it. I confess that I really got angry and broke a few items at the shop.”

He further added, “I realized my mistake and the very next day, I went to apologize to them but what I got in return was shocking. I was arrested by the police and treated like a criminal. There were around five-six cops who thrashed me inside the lock-up with their belts. The next day, at around 10.30 am, they took my brother to another room and beat him up too. Also, they registered an FIR against me under Section 151 (of The Code Of Criminal Procedure - arrest to prevent the commission of the cognizable offense)."

However, Ghaziabad police have denied all the charges. “The suspect had vandalized the property inside the store. The suspect was brought to the police station and was not subjected to any assault. He was booked under 151 of the CrPC and taken to a government hospital for medical examination, before being produced before an executive magistrate. He was granted bail and allowed to go home,” said Shlok Kumar, superintendent of Indirapuram city.

Aansh has been part of TV shows including Queens and Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.
