Navjot Singh Sidhu faces backlash over his comments on Pulwama attack; boycott Kapil Sharma show trends

The terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir claimed more than 40 lives of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and left several injured. The dastardly act sent a shiver down every patriotic Indians’ spine. On Thursday, terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) rammed a truck carrying explosives into a bus carrying the Indian jawans.

The terrorist attack has been condemned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has ensured that the lives lost will not go in vain and a befitting reply will soon be given. However, Navjot Singh Sidhu who serves as a Minister in the Punjab Assembly and is seen as a host on The Kapil Sharma Show used very mild and unsavoury words for the terror attacks. He was quoted as saying, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."
