'Marjaavaan' Box Office Day 3: Sidharth Malhotra-Riteish Deshmukh starrer witnesses a jump, performs well on first weekend

Sidharth Malhotra is back with his action hero avatar in Marjaavaan. In the film, the actor Sidharth plays a larger-than-life hero who breaks bones and utters dialogues that reminds of the Angry Young Man image of Bollywood's retro era. He is seen as a hotheaded young man who falls in love with a girl who cannot speak. The Milap Zaveri-directorial also features Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh.

The film, which took an opening of Rs 7.03 crore on Friday, remained steady on Saturday and minted Rs 7.21 crore. Now on day 3 at the box office, the film witnessed one of the biggest jump in collections as the audience whistled for its action, songs and dialogues. The Sunday business stands at Rs 10.18 crores, taking the total collection to Rs 24.42 crores.

Trade anaylst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers and wrote, "#Marjaavaan jumps on Day 3... Healthy weekend... Finds patronage from mass markets... Large chunk of biz from single screens... Multiplexes of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities better... Mon biz is decider... Fri 7.03 cr, Sat 7.21 cr, Sun 10.18 cr. Total: 24.42 cr. #India biz."

Marjaavaan hit the silver screens on November 15, 2019 and is pitted against Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala apart from Nawazuddin Siddiqui's and Athiya Shetty's Motichoor Chaknachoor.
