Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero is already garnering a whole lot of love with decent occupancy on opening day

Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero released to mixed reviews on Friday while fans made their way to the theatres to watch the film. If reports are anything to go by, Zero witnessed around 30-35% box office occupancy on the first day of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that Zero released in 5,965 screens -- 4,380 in India and 1,565 abroad. While official figures are awaited, trade pundits are also of the opinion that Zero is expected to earn Rs 20 crore on its opening day.

In the meantime, a list has been made available that features the top openings witnessed by films released in 2018. Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan occupied the top spot in the list as it recorded the highest opening in 2018 but the film subsequently tanked at the box office. Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 is on the second spot while Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju came third. Zero, made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, appears on the tenth spot in the list, though.
