Raazi, 102 Not Out, Deadpool 2, Bucket List and Parmanu all doing roaring business at box office

The Indian box office is seeing a golden period as most of the films that have released have gone on to mint a hell of a lot of money at the theatres. Deadpool 2, Raazi, Bucket List, Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran and 102 Not Out are all doing roaring business at the box office.

Deadpool 2 fared well on the weekend but declined on weekdays. However, it has crossed the lifetime business of the first Deadpool and all its versions viz Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English have done well and raked in the moolah.  It has already raked in Rs 48.18 crore net box offices till date and is expected to cash in on during the weekends as well. The Ryan Reynolds starrer film was another superhero film after Avengers: Infinity War that appealed to the Indian audiences. The Hindi version dubbed by Ranveer Singh also was much appreciated by the public as it remained true to the character and was a rarity in the dubbed films genre.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer 102 Not Out is proving with its golden run that films with tight story lines and superb acting will be lapped up by Indian audiences. The Umesh Shukla directed film has fetched around Rs 48.42 crores at the box office and is close to surpassing the Rs 50 crore mark. The film also stars Jimit Trivedi and has been raking in the money as well as acclaim.

On the other hand, there is no stopping Alia Bhatt’s Raazi as the film is about to cross the Rs 100 crore mark soon. The Meghna Gulzar directed film is adapted from Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat which tells the story of a young girl who turns spy for India by getting married to a Pakistani Army man and collects information during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Besides Alia, the fim also stars Vicky Kaushal, Soni Razdan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Rajit Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film has garnered around Rs 93.88 crores till date and will do more roaring business during the weekend.

Meanwhile, the new releases Madhuri Dixit’s Marathi film debut Bucket List and John Abraham’s Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran have also started seeing a surge in their business. Both the films started with good bookings and have fetched a substantial amount. Riding high on Madhuri’s star power and good content Bucket List has already fetched a cool Rs 96 lakhs from only 409 screens.

John’s patriotic drama Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran opened at Rs 4.82 crore on Day one despite an Indian Premier League semi-final match and is expected to pick up during the weekends.
